What is the Jewish Foundation?

        

 The Jewish Foundation is a trusted and expert resource for charitable gift planning and endowments and serves as a partner and resource for synagogues, local Jewish agencies, professional advisors and donors. The Foundation’s endowment totals over $52 million. In the 2017 fiscal/calendar year, the Foundation distributed over $2.8 million to charitable organizations (73% of which was to local Jewish organizations and synagogues, click here for more information).

The Jewish Foundation has two main roles:

1.The Jewish Foundation solicits and cultivates new endowment funds and planned gifts for the Jewish Federation, local Jewish agencies and synagogues; 

2. The Jewish Foundation invests and manages over 680 funds in the current endowment and vets and processes an annual average of $3 million in charitable distributions from those funds; and

3.  The Jewish Foundation provides scholarships to Jewish overnight camps, summer and gap year programs in Israel, colleges, as well as for religious school at our local synagogues.

The Jewish Foundation is committed to promoting Jewish philanthropy, for the UJA-Federation, for our agencies, for Jewish education, for our synagogues, for Israel and for Jews in need at home, overseas, and in Israel.

 

 

The Jewish Foundation is its own tax-exempt organization.  Specifically, it is a Type I Supporting Organization.
